      The new model is officially positioned as a mid-to-large flagship intelligent hybrid SUV. Larger than the standard Xingyue L, it features a 5-door, 5-seat layout.   Looking at the side profile, the vehicle has a composed and imposing stance, with factory-installed roof rails and conventional door handles. Chrome trim outlines the window edges, the underside of the side mirrors, and the side skirts, adding depth and a premium feel to the design. The Xingyue L Plus measures 4955 x 1960 x 1769 mm in length, width and height, with a wheelbase of 2900 mm — placing it in the mid-size SUV segment. It will ride on 20- or 21-inch wheels with multiple design options, including a "dish"-style wheel that conveys a sense of prestige.   On the powertrain front, the Xingyue L Plus comes in both pure gasoline and hybrid variants. The gasoline version is powered by a 2.0T engine producing 213 kW, with a top speed of 210 km/h and fuel consumption of 7.97–8.15 L/100 km.   • Spy Shots: BMW i7 ALPINA 70 xDrive Uncovered
    Based on the BMW i7 M, the new model puts a stronger focus on elegant design and ride comfort, and is scheduled to launch in mid-2027.   The test vehicle in the spy shots is fully wrapped in camouflage decals. Its overall front-end styling stays consistent with the standard BMW i7, retaining all iconic design features including split headlights, slim daytime running light strips and the oversized double-kidney grille.   What stands out is that the LED daytime running light bars on the BMW i7 ALPINA 70 xDrive are finished in amber, unlike the white units on regular models. This amber lighting design element debuted alongside the BMW M Concept next-generation show car, signaling that the new model is actively incorporating the design language of BMW's upcoming new-era vehicles.   On the powertrain front, official performance figures for the new car have not been announced yet. For reference, the China-market BMW i7 M70L features a dual-motor xDrive system: the front motor produces a maximum output of 190 kW and the rear motor 355 kW, delivering a combined system power of 545 kW and a peak torque of 1,100 N·m. It is paired with a 101.7 kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 610 km.

  • Spy Shots: Latest Volkswagen ID.Tiguan Prototype Uncovered
    New spy shots of the Volkswagen ID.Tiguan have emerged once again. The new model will be built on the MEB+ platform and serves as the successor to the Volkswagen ID.4.   As seen in the spy shots, the new model will adopt Volkswagen’s all-new design language for battery-electric vehicles. A full-width light strip runs above the closed grille, and an illuminated brand logo is also expected to be fitted. The shape of the side headlights and the A-pillar quarter windows are reminiscent of the FAW-Volkswagen ID. AURA T6 sold in China. However, the ID.Tiguan features a three-section design for its front lower bumper, with vertical styling elements in the fog light areas on both sides to lower the visual center of gravity. Conventional door handles are retained on the side profile.   According to previous reports, the new model will also receive a major interior upgrade, including a brand-new dashboard and an updated infotainment interface. It will most likely come with a redesigned steering wheel and higher-quality interior trim materials.   On the powertrain front, the model bound for the North American market will be offered with a 58 kWh or 79 kWh battery pack, with a peak charging power of up to 183 kW. Paired with upgraded electric motors, both performance and efficiency will see improvements.

  • BYD Sea Lion 08 to Launch on September 2nd
    The new model will make its global debut at the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show. Positioned as the flagship SUV of BYD's Ocean Network, it is available in both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and all-electric (BEV) powertrain variants. The all-electric version delivers a maximum CLTC cruising range of up to 900 km.   The Sea Lion 08 features smooth, rounded side lines, with a flowing waistline running from the front to the rear, paired with semi-flush door handles. The rear end is fitted with a full-width taillight assembly, echoing the design of the daytime running lights at the front. In terms of dimensions, the new vehicle measures 5115 mm in length, 1999 mm in width and 1800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3030 mm.   The all-electric lineup comes with three powertrain configurations: two single-motor versions and one dual-motor version. The single-motor variants deliver a maximum power output of 320 kW and 370 kW respectively, while the dual-motor variant has a peak power of 215 kW for the front motor and 370 kW for the rear motor. Two battery options with capacities of 92.093 kWh and 115.072 kWh are offered for the all-electric models, supporting CLTC ranges of 710 km, 800 km and 900 km respectively.

  • New Tank 300 Makes Debut at Chengdu Motor Show
      The most notable updates to the new Tank 300 include the launch of the Tank 300L for plug-in hybrid variants and the addition of the Hi4-Z hybrid system. The vehicle features 553 full-vehicle upgrades and a 260mm longer wheelbase. It measures 4886mm in length, 1984mm in width and 1927mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3010mm. It boasts a 33° departure angle, 19° breakover angle, 235mm minimum ground clearance and 800mm maximum wading depth. A total of 5 trim levels will be offered, covering gasoline, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains.   In terms of powertrain, the Hi4-T version is equipped with a non-decoupled four-wheel drive architecture, with the battery pack arranged in the trunk, focusing on robust off-road performance. The combined maximum system power reaches 310kW, with a WLTC all-electric range of 105km and a WLTC combined driving range of 913km.   The Hi4-Z variant adopts a decoupled four-wheel drive structure, paired with a 180kW front motor and a 200kW rear motor, delivering a combined maximum system power of 560kW. Its WLTC all-electric range stands at 200km, and the WLTC combined driving range reaches 1122km.

The EREV variant delivers a maximum pure electric range of 339 km, while the BEV model offers a maximum driving range of 830 km.   In terms of specifications, the new vehicle measures 5,335 mm in length, 2,005 mm in width and 1,805 mm in height, with a 3,250 mm wheelbase and 19-inch wheels. The rear features full-width taillights whose internal light pattern echoes the daytime running lights on the front fascia, giving it a distinct exterior design separate from the Zhijie V9.   On the powertrain side, the entire Xiangjie V8 range comes in single-motor and dual-motor layouts, with matching motor specs for both EREV and BEV variants. The EREV version is equipped with a 1.5T range extender, where the engine produces a maximum power of 118 kW.   For both EREV and BEV single-motor models, the motor delivers a peak output of 227 kW. Dual-motor versions feature a 160 kW front motor and a 227 kW rear motor. The EREV line-up offers two battery pack options: 56 kWh and 75.4 kWh, corresponding to pure electric ranges of 275 km, 260 km and 339 km respectively.     The BYD Da Han will start pre-sales at the 2026 Chengdu Motor Show, which opens on August 21. The model comes in both pure electric and plug-in hybrid options, and the pure electric version offers a maximum CLTC range of 1008 km.   On the exterior, the front face features a full-width integrated light bar paired with dragon-whisker styling, giving the car strong visual recognition. At the rear, it adopts a through-type taillight assembly. The inner light chamber is designed in a style similar to Chinese knots, creating a visual echo with the front end.   In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 5256 mm in length, 1999 mm in width and 1510 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3130 mm. It will also offer 20-inch and 21-inch wheel options. The 21-inch wheels can be optionally fitted with floating wheel center caps to enhance the premium feel.   For the powertrain, the plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a 1.5T engine plus an electric motor. The engine has a maximum power of 115 kW, and the motor delivers a peak power of 200 kW. It comes with a 54.489 kWh battery pack and has a WLTC pure electric range of 370 km.   The pure electric version is available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 270 km/h.

  • Koenigsegg CCGT1 Official Images Released
    Koenigsegg has unveiled the official images of the CCGT1. Built on the platform of the Koenigsegg CC850, the new model pays tribute to the CCGT GT1-class race car that the brand launched at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. The original CCGT race car delivered formidable competitiveness during testing, yet never made it to the circuit due to revisions in racing regulations. Leveraging modern technology, Koenigsegg aims to build the CCGT1 into the world’s first road-legal GT1-class hypercar. The new model will be fitted with a 5.0-liter V8 engine, capable of a maximum output of 1,600 horsepower when running on E85 fuel.   On the powertrain front, the CCGT1 adopts Koenigsegg’s in-house developed 5.0-liter V8 aluminum twin-turbocharged engine, featuring a flat-plane crankshaft, dual overhead camshafts and dry-sump lubrication. The engine has a compression ratio of 9.0:1, a bore of 92 mm and a stroke of 95.25 mm, and is equipped with individual cylinder pressure sensors and ceramic ball-bearing turbochargers. This engine delivers a maximum power output of 1,280 horsepower on regular gasoline; when powered by E85 fuel, it reaches a peak output of 1,600 horsepower and a peak torque of 1,500 N·m. Mated to the engine is a 9-speed LST transmission, integrated with a KSS sequential shift mechanism, a KED electronic differential and other configurations, with paddle shifters as standard across the entire lineup.

  • Leaked Design Sketches of New Chery QQ3 EV Variant Surface
        New design sketches of the upcoming Chery QQ3 EV special variant have been leaked. The model is slated to make its debut at the Chengdu Motor Show, positioned as a more refined premium special edition. Adopting the Neo Retro design philosophy, it reinterprets classic retro styling elements with a modern approach.   The interior of the new variant will feature exclusive leather textures and decorative trim, along with bespoke color schemes. The Chery QQ3 EV is equipped with the AI Lingxi Smart Cockpit, headlined by a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. Integrated with the Carmind intelligent assistant, it supports interactive functions including natural AI voice conversation, AI image generation and intelligent vehicle control. It also offers smartphone connectivity via CarPlay, HiCar and CarLink.   On the powertrain front, the Chery QQ3 EV adopts a rear-mounted rear-wheel-drive pure electric system. The motor is available in two tuning versions, with maximum power of 58kW and 90kW, and peak torque of 90N·m and 115N·m respectively. It comes standard with the Rhino Battery in 29.48kWh and 41.28kWh capacities, delivering a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 310km and 420km. Fast charging from 30% to 80% state of charge takes no more than 16.5 minutes, and the vehicle also supports a 6.6kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) external discharge function. In addition, the model is fitted with a rear multi-link independent suspension and has a minimum turning radius of 5.2 meters.

      As the brand's first MPV model, it is close to the Zhijie V9 in overall dimensions, and offers two powertrain options: range-extended and pure electric. At the rear, it adopts a full-width taillight assembly, with the English logo of the Xiangjie brand positioned above. In terms of dimensions, its length, width and height are 5335/2005/1805mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 3250mm. It is positioned as a mid-to-large MPV.   For the interior, the vehicle also follows Xiangjie's family design language, with an integrated triple-screen setup matched with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, delivering strong recognizability. On the powertrain front, the Xiangjie V8 is available in pure electric and range-extended versions.   The range-extended variant is equipped with a 1.5T engine with a maximum output of 118kW, and comes in single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The single-motor version has a peak motor power of 227kW, while the dual-motor version delivers maximum power of 160kW for the front motor and 227kW for the rear motor. The range-extended version is fitted with two battery specifications of 56kWh and 75.4kWh, corresponding to pure electric driving ranges of 275km, 260km and 339km respectively.   • Mitsubishi ASX VR-e Official Images Unveiled
      Mitsubishi Motors has released the official images of the ASX VR-e, a new all-electric compact SUV.   The Mitsubishi ASX VR-e measures 4,315 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width and 1,535 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,800 mm, placing it in the compact SUV segment by dimensions. It features hidden door handles and low-drag wheel rims, which differ in design from those fitted on the Foxtron Bria.   Inside the cabin, the Mitsubishi ASX VR-e is equipped with a 9.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch central touchscreen display. The overall shape and layout of the center console are identical to those of the Foxtron Bria, with only minor adjustments to interior trim materials and details.   In terms of powertrain, the rear-wheel-drive variant adopts a rear-mounted electric motor with a maximum output of 232 horsepower and a peak torque of 350 N·m, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds. Its 57.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack delivers an NEDC-rated driving range of 516 km. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant has a combined maximum output of 407 horsepower and a peak torque of 700 N·m, completing the 0–100 km/h sprint in 3.9 seconds. With the same battery capacity as the RWD version, it achieves an NEDC-rated range of 466 km. Both variants support 134 kW DC fast charging, with a 10–80% charge time of less than 30 minutes.

    The Xpeng G9L will kick off pre-sales on August 11. Positioned as a flagship large five-seat SUV, it joins the six-seat Xpeng GX to form Xpeng’s flagship model lineup. A mid-to-large SUV in the 300,000-yuan price bracket, the new model will be offered in both battery electric (BEV) and range-extended (EREV) powertrain options. The entire range comes standard with 800V ultra-fast charging technology, which can add 450km of CLTC range in just 9 minutes of charging.   In terms of body dimensions, the new model measures 5120mm long, 1999mm wide and 1782mm tall, with a 3100mm wheelbase. It is equipped with power-operated soft-close doors and 22-inch ultra-wide staggered tires. At the rear, it features a roof spoiler, high-mounted stop lamp and full-width taillights that mirror the design of the headlight cluster. The rear end also includes a recessed license plate housing and a two-tone rear bumper.   Both the BEV and EREV variants are available in two-wheel drive (2WD) and four-wheel drive (4WD) configurations, with a flagship intelligent chassis fitted as standard across the lineup. The BEV version offers two battery options: lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and ternary lithium (NCM), with six CLTC pure electric range ratings: 672km, 702km, 725km, 755km, 775km and 805km. The BEV 2WD model is equipped with a single 270kW motor, while the BEV 4WD model adopts a dual-motor setup consisting of a 160kW front motor and a 270kW rear motor.

Its split headlight assembly is seamlessly integrated with the front bumper. The vehicle adopts a sleek coupe silhouette. Dimensionally, it measures 4836mm in length, 1880mm in width and 1505mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2766mm. It comes with semi-flush door handles and large multi-spoke alloy wheels. The rear end is fitted with full-width taillights that echo the front styling, paired with a luminous brand emblem.   For intelligent driving assistance, the sedan is equipped with a high-level intelligent driver assistance system, supporting highway NOA, urban NOA, automatic parking, valet parking, remote parking and trace reverse function.     Spy Shots of Volkswagen Tiguan R Leaked. The new model of new Volkswagen Tiguan R is expected to make its official debut within this year. In terms of exterior design, the Volkswagen Tiguan R has a lot of new features, including an aggressive front bumper, larger cooling air intakes, quad exhaust tips, and an R badge on the side of the headlights.   • Spy Shots: All-New Audi S6 Exposed With Virtually No Camouflage
    Road-going prototypes of the all-new Audi S6 sedan and Avant have been spotted during testing. Both test mules have shed nearly all of their camouflage, with only the S6 badge on the Avant’s rear end covered by tape, signaling that the official unveiling of the new model is imminent. Two exterior details directly confirm the car’s powertrain setup. A dedicated charging port has been added to the driver’s side rear wheel arch, and a yellow high-voltage system warning sticker is affixed to the top-left corner of the rear window, verifying that the new model will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. This will be Audi’s first S-badged model to adopt plug-in hybrid technology; prior to this, the first plug-in hybrid performance model under Audi Sport was the RS5. Audi has not yet released official detailed power specifications. For reference, the current S5 is powered by a pure gasoline 3.0T V6 engine, delivering a maximum output of 362 hp and a peak torque of 550 N·m. The higher-spec RS5 plug-in hybrid system pairs a 2.9T V6 engine with an electric motor, producing a combined maximum output of 630 hp and a peak torque of 825 N·m. The combined output of the all-new S6 PHEV is expected to fall between these two figures. The all-electric Audi S6 e-tron currently on sale delivers a combined 496 hp from its dual-motor setup, which rises to 543 hp when launch control is activated. Within the same S6 model lineup, the performance level of the new plug-in hybrid S6 is not expected to create a substantial gap with the all-electric S6 e-tron.
