Spy Shots: BMW i7 ALPINA 70 xDrive Uncovered

2026 08/27

Based on the BMW i7 M, the new model puts a stronger focus on elegant design and ride comfort, and is scheduled to launch in mid-2027.

The test vehicle in the spy shots is fully wrapped in camouflage decals. Its overall front-end styling stays consistent with the standard BMW i7, retaining all iconic design features including split headlights, slim daytime running light strips and the oversized double-kidney grille.

What stands out is that the LED daytime running light bars on the BMW i7 ALPINA 70 xDrive are finished in amber, unlike the white units on regular models. This amber lighting design element debuted alongside the BMW M Concept next-generation show car, signaling that the new model is actively incorporating the design language of BMW's upcoming new-era vehicles.

On the powertrain front, official performance figures for the new car have not been announced yet. For reference, the China-market BMW i7 M70L features a dual-motor xDrive system: the front motor produces a maximum output of 190 kW and the rear motor 355 kW, delivering a combined system power of 545 kW and a peak torque of 1,100 N·m. It is paired with a 101.7 kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC pure electric range of 610 km.
