Alleged official photos of the new BMW X1 have been leaked online. The refreshed model adopts the design language of BMW’s Neue Klasse lineup, and following the image leak, it is widely expected to make its official debut in the near future.
On the exterior, the new model embraces the Neue Klasse design philosophy with an all-new vertically oriented retro-style double-kidney grille. The self-illuminating grille runs seamlessly into the headlight clusters on either side, which also follow the Neue Klasse styling cues. The front bumper features a large air intake. The new BMW X1 is fitted with semi-flush door handles and paired with large-diameter wheels.
On the powertrain front, despite the redesigned front fascia in Neue Klasse style, the new model remains built on the FAAR front-wheel-drive platform. As a result, no major powertrain adjustments are anticipated, and specifications are expected to stay in line with the current model. In addition to gasoline and diesel variants, 48V mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions are also expected. The model currently sold in the Chinese market is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum power of 150 kW and a peak torque of 300 N·m.
