2027 GAC Trumpchi Xiangwang S7 PHEV Set to Launch on July 22

2026 07/20

The 2027 GAC Trumpchi Xiangwang S7 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is officially scheduled to go on sale in the Chinese market on July 22, with the updated model focusing primarily on targeted configuration and equipment upgrades to boost its intelligent driving capabilities and overall product competitiveness.

For the 2027 model year, the Xiangwang S7 PHEV rolls out a new Blade Shadow two-tone body paint scheme as a fresh color option, upgrades its perception hardware to a 192-line lidar sensor to support more advanced driver-assistance functions, adds a dedicated small blue indicator light for intuitive driving visualization, and includes intelligent parking assist as standard equipment across every trim level in the range. Its overall exterior styling and body proportions remain consistent with the current on-sale model, retaining the brand’s established design language, and gray has been officially confirmed as one of the available solid body color choices for consumers.

On the powertrain side, the 2027 model is fitted with an upgraded 38.8 kWh traction battery pack that will bring a noticeable improvement to its all-electric daily driving range. Its full combined driving range under comprehensive working conditions reaches 1,200 kilometers. For reference, the current-generation model delivers a CLTC (China Light-duty Vehicle Test Cycle) combined range of 1,150 km and a CLTC pure electric range of 205 km. The plug-in hybrid powertrain is widely expected to carry over from the existing lineup, built around a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with either a single electric motor (2WD) or dual electric motors (4WD). Both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive configurations will be offered, with peak total system output standing at 288 kW and 368 kW for the two variants respectively.
