As a mid-cycle facelift model, the new vehicle has received comprehensive upgrades to its exterior design, smart cockpit, intelligent driving system and powertrain. Through full adoption of new-generation technologies, it redefines the luxury and driving pleasure of a flagship model. The car will also be on display at BMW’s booth during the Beijing Auto Show, and is scheduled to launch in 2027.
The vehicle’s side profile and rear end retain the minimalist design concept. Its body dimensions are consistent with the outgoing 7 Series, measuring 5391mm in length, 1950mm in width and 1548mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3215mm. The rear is equipped with two slim light strips that echo the design of the front end. In addition, the tailgate release switch and reversing camera adopt a hidden design.
For the powertrain, the new BMW 7 Series will continue to be equipped with the 4th-generation B58 3.0T inline six-cylinder engine, paired with an all-new turbocharger. The new BMW i7 will come with upgraded dual-excitation electric motors, while introducing silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor technology to boost overall electric drive efficiency. Meanwhile, the new model will be fitted with all-new 4695 large cylindrical battery cells, delivering a CLTC-rated driving range of nearly 800 kilometers.
