Spy shots of the new Land Rover Range Rover Sport have surfaced. As the brand’s mid-to-large luxury performance SUV, the third-generation Range Rover Sport is set to mark its fourth anniversary on the market, and will soon roll out its mid-cycle facelift.
Judging from the released spy shots, the test mule is wrapped in heavy camouflage. The update takes a conservative, evolutionary approach rather than a radical overhaul: it refines details on the basis of the existing iconic styling, while still retaining the Range Rover family’s signature luxurious and rugged road presence. Though the camouflage conceals key details, signs of upgrades to the front end are still clearly visible. The core change comes in the form of all-new headlight clusters, with an expected full refresh of their internal light graphics. The front grille has received minor tweaks, with its outline and internal trim strips finished to a more refined standard. Modifications to the front bumper are even more immediately apparent: the outer air intakes on either side have grown in size, amplifying the vehicle’s sporty character.
Under the hood, the facelifted Range Rover Sport is widely expected to retain its existing powertrain lineup, with only minor tuning upgrades to fuel efficiency and emissions to meet the latest regulatory standards. The model will continue to be equipped with a 3.0T inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum output of 400 horsepower and a peak torque of 550 N·m, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 5.5 seconds.
Meanwhile, the automaker has confirmed that an all-electric variant is being developed in parallel. The zero-emission model will draw heavily on technology from the upcoming all-electric Range Rover, featuring a dedicated pure-electric platform and a dual-motor four-wheel drive system, with its range and fast-charging capabilities on par with mainstream benchmarks for luxury electric SUVs.
