Official spy shots of the smart #6 EHD are now officially released. As an all-new mid-size sedan under the smart brand, it will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system comprising a 1.5T engine and an electric motor.
The exterior of the vehicle has already been filed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The spy shots this time primarily showcase the illuminated effects of its front and rear lamps. At the front, the full-width central light bar features a vertical layout that extends all the way down to the bottom of the headlamps, bringing a refreshing visual feel. At the rear, the car is fitted with a layered full-width taillight assembly, whose illuminated effect creates a nice echo with the front end.
The smart #6 EHD has an overall length of 4906mm, width of 1922mm, height of 1508mm and a wheelbase of 2926mm. It will be available with 19-inch and 20-inch wheel options, and comes with an electric rear spoiler as standard.
In terms of powertrain, the new model is set to adopt a plug-in hybrid system. Its 1.5T turbocharged engine has a maximum power output of 120kW. Two battery pack options will be offered, with capacities of 20kWh and 41.46kWh respectively, corresponding to a pure electric driving range of 110km and 234km.
