Spy shots of the Mercedes-AMG CLE Mythos have been officially released. As the second model under the Mythos series, it is set to be sold in a limited run as usual with a substantial price tag. A new flagship creation from the bespoke Mythos Legends division, this model is expected to be powered by Mercedes' latest flat-plane crank V8 engine, boasting a maximum output of up to 659 horsepower.
From the spy shots, the test mule features striking front-end tweaks compared to the AMG CLE 53. Most notably, the front bumper is fitted with a larger full-width air intake, complemented by aerodynamic side skirts – its aggressive design bears a strong resemblance to the iconic AMG Black Series. What’s more, a roll cage is clearly visible inside the cabin through the windows, and when paired with the large rear spoiler, it fully underscores the car’s hardcore performance DNA.
It is reported that the new model will be equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s all-new flat-plane crank V8 engine, which adopts a twin-charged configuration, churning out a maximum power of 659 hp and a peak torque of 800 N·m. According to the photographers who captured the spy shots, this test mule will feature a rear-wheel drive setup. Notably, this brand-new engine will make its global debut on the facelifted Mercedes S-Class, where it will deliver a maximum power of 537 hp and a peak torque of 745 N·m.
