FAW-Volkswagen’s all-new Sagitar S is slated for its official launch in March. The letter "S" in Sagitar S stands for Safe, Smart, Swift and Style. The vehicle will come with two powertrain options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and a 1.5T turbocharged engine.
In terms of exterior design, the all-new Sagitar S carries forward the brand’s family styling language, boasting a more youthful and dynamic visual appeal. The outline of the headlights on both sides is highly similar to that of the overseas-spec Sagitar, lending the front fascia a broader and more imposing look. In terms of dimensions, the vehicle measures 4,702 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width and 1,484 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,688 mm, which creates a spacious and stretched stance.
Moving to the interior, the Sagitar S is equipped with a 12.9-inch central control touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, supporting AR live navigation projection. The new seats feature dynamic line design, and their wide, well-proportioned side bolsters are expected to provide excellent lateral support.
Combined with 6-way adjustment for the driver’s seat, 4-way adjustment for the passenger seat, and an intelligent temperature control system, the model further enhances ride comfort.
On the powertrain front, the two available setups cater to different needs. The 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, delivers a maximum power of 81 kW and excels in fuel efficiency. The 1.5T EVO2 engine, mated to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission, churns out a maximum power of 118 kW. It not only offers more robust power output and brisk acceleration response but also maintains better fuel economy.
