The official images of the Hyundai Staria Camper Concept have been unveiled. Based on the Staria MPV, this model has been converted into a recreational vehicle, and Hyundai may put this concept car into mass production in the future.
The new vehicle is equipped with a retractable roof and an electrically pop-up roof, which can form a bed for sleeping inside the car. A 520-watt solar panel is also mounted on the roof, generating 2.6 kWh of electricity per day that can be used to power on-board equipment or extend the vehicle’s driving range. It also comes with smart glass that allows users to adjust its light transmittance for privacy protection. Meanwhile, the smart glass can block ultraviolet rays, and features outstanding sound insulation and heat insulation performance that surpasses ordinary car windows.
The second-row seats can be fully flattened to form a larger double bed. The interior is fitted with a hand basin and a refrigerator, as well as a movable small table, a kitchen countertop, a control screen and storage hooks, creating a quite cozy ambiance inside the vehicle. A movable table can be extended outward from the rear of the car, and an outdoor shower function is also available for users.
In terms of power, the new vehicle shares the same powertrain as the all-electric version of the Staria. It is equipped with an 84 kWh battery pack, delivering a maximum power of 218 horsepower (160 kW) and a WLTP-rated driving range of 400 km. Boasting an 800V high-voltage platform, it only takes less than 20 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80%.
