Spy shots of the new Volkswagen ID.4 have emerged, with the revamped model set to feature significant optimizations and adjustments to its exterior and interior, marking a comprehensive facelift.
In terms of exterior design, the new Volkswagen ID.4 may not look all that different at first glance, as the test vehicle appears to be uncamouflaged. However, the car does in fact sport some disguise elements—for instance, the headlights are temporary units. Judging from the contours of the mold openings, the front fascia of the new model is likely to undergo a substantial transformation.
On the side profile, the size of the quarter window behind the rear door has been increased, which is expected to further enhance the rear passenger space. Meanwhile, the door handles have reverted to a conventional design, replacing the semi-hidden type. At the rear, the taillights will also be redesigned and optimized, with camouflage stickers applied to the upper sections of the light assemblies.
The interior is also slated for sweeping changes, including a brand-new steering wheel and an upgraded infotainment system. For reference, the powertrain of the current model comes with electric motors offering maximum outputs of 125 kW, 170 kW and 230 kW respectively, with CLTC pure electric driving ranges of 448 km, 442 km, 601 km and 560 km.
