Spy shots of the new Volkswagen ID.3 have surfaced online. The vehicle may appear to be devoid of any camouflage or visible tweaks at first glance, but in reality, Volkswagen has adopted a new sticker-based camouflage wrap for a more discreet concealing effect.
A relevant official from Volkswagen stated that the new model has seen significant enhancements in battery cost and performance, and will also come with new features as well as advanced driver assistance systems. These upgrades will deliver substantial improvements both in terms of cost-efficiency and customer benefits.
As for the exterior design of the new ID.3, it is likely inspired by the design philosophy of the ID.2 ALL concept car. Though the headlights are still covered by camouflage, a more distinct front bumper is clearly visible. Markedly different from that of the current model, it gives the vehicle a noticeably sportier look.
The interior is also set to undergo a major revamp. The center console will be redesigned with the addition of some physical buttons, and upgraded interior materials will be used to elevate the overall premium feel.
Details regarding the powertrain remain undisclosed at present. For reference, the current ID.3 model is fitted with a 125 kW rear-mounted motor and offers a CLTC pure electric driving range of 451 km.
