The new Dongfeng Mengshi M817 will start pre-sales on May 29, and the Mengshi M817 Ultimate will be unveiled at the same time. The regular new M817 will get a power upgrade, while the Ultimate version will deliver even more rugged performance.
The new M817 retains the exterior design of the current model, and its interior may receive some configuration upgrades. The main improvement lies in the powertrain: it will be equipped with a 2.0T plug-in hybrid system, with the 2.0T engine producing a maximum power of 165 kW. Meanwhile, the battery pack capacity has been increased to 51.9 kWh and 62.5 kWh, corresponding to WLTC pure electric ranges of 202 km and 207 km respectively.
The Mengshi M817 Ultimate was already shown at the Beijing Auto Show. It features a more hardcore official modification, and will be the first model to use Mengshi's new-generation intelligent off-road architecture, including Extreme Power 2.0 and Rock Chassis 2.0. It will also participate in the 2026 Taklimakan Rally. The Ultimate version will come with Huawei Qiankun 896-line LiDAR, be the first to launch Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving NCA Off-Road Version, and include Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 and HarmonyOS Cockpit 6.
