Positioned between BMW and Rolls-Royce, the ALPINA brand is about to host the global debut of its first concept car. According to official information, the Vision BMW ALPINA will make its official appearance on May 15 (the first day of the event) at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on the shores of Lake Como. This will also be the brand's first new car press conference since joining the BMW Group earlier this year.
As the first work after ALPINA's rebirth, the Vision BMW ALPINA targets the classic large GT segment. Based on leaked spy shots showing its silhouette, it has a long body and a wide front end, continuing ALPINA's consistent exclusive elegant temperament. Its style is very close to the B8 GT, the last model from the brand's independent era, with only differences in the taillight design — the taillights extend to the sides of the body, and the roofline slopes down smoothly like a hatchback. Its overall silhouette is more slender than that of the Honda Prelude.
Officials define the Vision BMW ALPINA as "a combination of refinement, performance and comfort". It is positioned in the high-end market above BMW and Mercedes-Benz but below Bentley and Rolls-Royce, and will directly compete with equivalent Jaguar models in the future.
