
The new 2027 Volvo EM90 largely retains the exterior and interior design of the current model. Built on the SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture) platform, it is positioned as a pure electric mid-to-large MPV. The vehicle measures 5206mm in length, 2024mm in width and 1859mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3205mm, and has a drag coefficient of just 0.270.
For the powertrain, the model is equipped with a rear-mounted single motor that delivers a maximum power of 200kW/272Ps and a peak torque of 343N·m. It uses a 116kWh CATL ternary lithium battery, providing a CLTC-rated driving range of 738km. In addition, the car comes with a dual-chamber air suspension. The Volvo EM90 also has a full range of driving assistance systems, supported by a set of software and sensors including high-definition cameras, panoramic cameras, millimeter-wave radar and ultrasonic sensors.
The new model is built on an 800V high-voltage architecture, and offers two powertrain options: rear-wheel drive single motor and dual-motor. The rear-wheel drive single motor version has a maximum power of 245kW, paired with a 92kWh ternary lithium battery, and reaches a CLTC-rated pure electric driving range of 777km. The dual-motor version has a combined maximum power of 500kW, matched with a 106kWh ternary lithium battery. It delivers a CLTC-rated pure electric driving range of 848km, and sprints from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
