Spy Shots of the Updated Porsche 911 Dakar Revealed

2026 03/30

The spy shots of the Dakar test mule reveal that the new model will align with the Porsche 992.2 generation, featuring comprehensive upgrades to its exterior, interior and powertrain, and will remain a limited-edition offering.

Per the spy shots, the new model gets subtle exterior tweaks, most notably the all-new light clusters that match the design language of the Porsche 992.2. Beyond that, the vehicle’s rear end adopts a new active spoiler design, replacing the fixed unit fitted to the current model. That said, given the car is still in the testing phase, the fixed spoiler may yet be retained for the final production version.

The vehicle’s interior is also expected to receive the same updates as the Porsche 992.2, including a brand-new fully digital instrument cluster and the removal of most physical buttons. On the powertrain front, the current 911 Dakar uses the same powertrain as the Carrera 4 GTS, and the updated 911 Dakar is expected to follow this precedent by adopting the T-Hybrid system from the new 911 GTS. This hybrid setup consists of a 3.6T single-turbocharged engine and a permanent magnet synchronous motor housed within the 8-speed PDK transmission, delivering a total combined system output of 398kW (541 horsepower).
