The new car is the first model built on Mercedes-Benz’s all-new VAN.EA pure electric architecture platform. It supports 800V voltage, offers front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options, and features a maximum 8-seat layout. It is reported that the all-new all-electric Mercedes-Benz VLE will make its global debut on March 10.
Mercedes-Benz has previously released a teaser image of the vehicle. Its headlight assembly adopts the brand’s latest family-oriented design, with two three-pointed star emblems embedded inside and a full-width light strip above. The vehicle is expected to come with a closed grille, and its outline visible so far is capable of illuminated effects. In addition, the vehicle in the teaser image sports a brown paint finish, exuding a refined sense of premium quality.
According to earlier reports, the new car has completed wind tunnel tests, high-speed and extreme dynamic tests, as well as long-distance trials. During the 1,100km long-distance test drive from Stuttgart to Rome, the vehicle only needed two 15-minute quick charging stops to reach the destination. Its rear-wheel steering system demonstrated remarkable advantages on mountain bends and narrow Italian streets. It is learned that the car will be equipped with Mercedes-Benz’s latest MB.OS system.
