Kia has officially confirmed that it will debut three high-performance pure-electric GT models, namely the EV5 GT, EV3 GT and EV4 GT, at a press conference held on the opening day of the 2026 Brussels Motor Show on January 9. The simultaneous launch of these three vehicles signifies that Kia is accelerating its performance-centric electrification strategy and further expanding its pure-electric GT product lineup, with a focused emphasis on the electric SUV and crossover segments in the European market.
Among them, the Kia EV5 GT will serve as the flagship model of this launch and also the most powerful variant in the EV5 lineup. Kia confirmed that the vehicle will be equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, boasting a maximum power output of 225 kW and a peak torque of 480 N·m, representing a significant performance upgrade over the standard EV5. This powertrain configuration endows the EV5 GT with robust acceleration capabilities while retaining the everyday practicality inherent to a mid-size pure-electric SUV, positioning it directly against performance-focused pure-electric models in the same class.
The joint showcase of the EV3 GT and EV4 GT alongside the EV5 GT further extends the GT performance positioning across a broader range of electric vehicle categories. Although Kia has not yet disclosed the specific powertrain parameters of these two models, the official stated that they will adopt GT-exclusive exterior and interior designs, and undergo enhancements to their powertrain systems, suspension and chassis tuning compared to their standard counterparts—all aimed at highlighting more sporty and handling-oriented driving characteristics. This strategy of launching GT variants across multiple models simultaneously reflects Kia’s systematic approach to deploying performance-oriented vehicles within its overall pure-electric product portfolio.
