2025 China Car Exports Report

2025 12/03

At the 2025 World Internet of Things Convention (WIOTC) Transportation and Vehicle Networking Summit Forum, a key statement from the Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) revealed that China's auto exports are expected to exceed 6.8 million units in 2025, with total auto sales surpassing 34 million units and new energy vehicle (NEV) sales reaching 16 million units. Following China's ascent as the world's largest auto exporter in 2024, these figures further underscore the robust growth momentum of China's auto exports.

China's auto export growth has been a steady upward trajectory rather than an overnight achievement. From 2022 to 2024, exports surged from 3.111 million units to 5.859 million units, marking an over 88% increase in three years. The contribution of exports to total annual sales also rose from 11.5% to 18.6%, emerging as a core driver of industry growth.

Growth momentum accelerated in 2025. CAAM data shows that auto exports reached 5.616 million units in the first 10 months, a year-on-year increase of 15.7%. In October alone, exports hit 666,000 units, up 2.1% month-on-month and 22.9% year-on-year. At this rate, the annual target of 6.8 million units is well within reach, setting a new historical high.
