Hyundai Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Recall of Defective Auto Products" and the "Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Recall of Defective Auto Products," has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation. Starting from today, it will recall certain imported IONIQ 5N pure electric vehicles produced between July 11, 2024, and November 28, 2024, totaling 168 units.

The reason for this recall is that some of the vehicles within the recall scope have an unreasonable software setting in the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) and Integrated Electronic Braking (IEB). When driving in Left Foot Braking (LFB) mode, this could potentially lead to reduced braking effectiveness, longer braking distances, and an increased risk of collision, posing a safety hazard.

Hyundai Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. will provide free software updates for the VCU and IEB through authorized service centers to eliminate these safety risks. The company will notify affected users via registered mail and other methods.
