Renault has officially announced that its all-new compact SUV will be named the "Renault Boreal." This new model is a global vehicle and a key product in Renault's "2027 Global Development Plan," designed for over 70 markets outside of Europe. According to the official statement, the name "Boreal" is inspired by French, conveying a sense of softness and harmony, symbolizing an endless horizon where power and nature blend together. Additionally, the Boreal is positioned as a C-segment SUV. In Renault Group’s classification, the Dacia Bigster, which is 4.5 meters long, falls into the C-segment SUV category. Given that the Boreal is similar in size to the Bigster, it is also expected to be classified as a compact SUV.
Renault Group also stated that it plans to launch seven new models in the future, including the Renault 4 E-Tech electric vehicle, the Dacia Bigster, the Alpine A390 for the European market, and a C-segment SUV for international markets, which is the Renault Boreal. Additionally, there will be two facelifted models: the Renault Austral and the Renault Espace.
