A new Jeep Compass will be unveiled 2025 spring and, depending on the market, will offer the choice of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrains.
The new Compass, which represents the third generation of the nameplate, will ride on Stellantis' STLA Medium platform designed for compact cars. Jeep said there will be e-Hybrid, e-Hybrid plug-in, and fully electric options. Drive will go to the front wheels as standard, though some models will come with all-wheel drive, either as standard or available.
Fellow Stellantis brand Opel last year unveiled a redesigned Grandland compact crossover based on the STLA Medium platform, a vehicle that offers gas, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrains. In the electric version, the biggest battery has a capacity of 98 kwh, and the same may be true for the electric Compass.
The current Compass has been on sale since the 2017 model year and is the third top-selling vehicle at Jeep, behind the Wrangler and the leading Grand Cherokee. Despite its age, Compass sales in the U.S. grew 16% last year to reach 111,697 units.
