A test mule of the Aston Martin Vantage high-performance version has been spotted at the Nürburgring. Its most distinctive feature is the eight-exit exhaust setup, paired with track-focused aerodynamic tweaks, indicating that this will be a track-oriented flagship variant. It is expected to be badged as the Vantage RS or AMR, and may draw on technologies from the brand’s GT4 race car.
The prototype is a test mule that retains the front and rear bumpers of the standard Vantage, but features significant detailed upgrades. It is equipped with a more prominent front splitter, a fixed rear wing, complemented by 21-inch forged alloy wheels from the Vantage S, drilled brake discs and green brake calipers, fully emphasizing its track-focused character.
In terms of powertrain, the new model is anticipated to retain the AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine. The standard Vantage currently delivers a maximum power output of 489kW, while the Vantage S produces 500kW, leaving ample headroom for further performance upgrades. Meanwhile, the vehicle is likely to be tuned by Aston Martin’s AMR division, which is responsible for the brand’s GT3/GT4 race cars, with a track-specific suspension system to further enhance its handling capabilities.
