The upcoming refreshed Kia EV5 is set to receive comprehensive upgrades to its exterior styling, interior layout, and core electric powertrain systems to boost its market competitiveness, with an official debut scheduled for early 2027.
The spy shots show the prototype still clad in heavy camouflage wrap, with only subtle details hinting at updates including a brand-new wheel design and a restyled rear bumper. Notably, Kia unveiled the EV5 Weekender Concept at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show. While the concept is part of the Weekender lineup built for outdoor exploration, its rear bumper design is also expected to be carried over to the refreshed EV5.
On the powertrain front, the current Kia EV5 is offered in single-motor and dual-motor variants, with maximum power outputs of 160 kW and 233 kW respectively, and certified driving ranges of 530km, 720km, 630km and 580km. Specific powertrain upgrades for the new Kia EV5 have not yet been announced, but improved charging efficiency is widely expected to be a key focus, with the model likely to be upgraded to an 800V electrical architecture.
