Hyundai has released official images of its all-new Nexo FCEV. Positioned as a mid-size SUV, the new model uses a hydrogen fuel cell for power. The vehicle features an entirely new exterior and interior design, with improvements in both performance and range over the current model.
The new Nexo comes equipped with dual 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and infotainment display, along with a HUD (Head-Up Display) system. It adopts a column-mounted gear selector, and the infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Below the central display, there is a set of touch-sensitive buttons for controlling the air conditioning. Other notable features include dual wireless charging pads for smartphones, a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, and an intelligent ambient lighting system that can change colors in response to the vehicle's speed, providing a visual alert when the car exceeds the speed limit.
In terms of power, the Nexo generates electricity through the reaction of hydrogen and oxygen, using a single electric motor with a maximum output of 150kW, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.8 seconds. The hydrogen storage capacity has been slightly increased to 6.69kg, enabling a driving range of up to 700km. Additionally, refueling the hydrogen tank takes only 5 minutes.
