Spy Shots of AMG's Electric Flagship SUV Revealed, Showcasing More Rear-End Details

2025 03/04

Recently, a set of spy shots of AMG's upcoming electric flagship SUV surfaced online, revealing more details of the rear design. The new model will be built on the AMG.EA platform and is positioned as a high-performance all-electric SUV. It is expected to debut in 2026 or 2027.

AMG announced plans for the model last fall, and now a prototype has been spotted undergoing cold-weather testing near the Arctic Circle in northern Sweden, where temperatures at this time of year can drop as low as -40 degrees.

From the side, the SUV showcases a sleek and dynamic silhouette, with a gently sloping roofline—though it does not adopt a full coupe-style design. The rear is still in the development and testing phase, currently featuring temporary circular taillights. The SUV will also come with a rear spoiler, and it is rumored that a carbon-ceramic braking system will be available.

In terms of performance, the vehicle will utilize an 800V architecture and will be powered by four electric motors, delivering a maximum output exceeding 1,000 horsepower. It will also feature torque vectoring control, active suspension, four-wheel steering, and an AMG-specific battery to enhance driving performance.
